The holiday, celebrated in France and its overseas territories, commemorates the fall of the Bastille, a state prison once located in Paris, and with it, the fall of the French monarchy – an important milestone in the French Revolution. |
While Paris is always a good idea, Bastille Day is a perfect excuse to dedicate an issue of The Pulse to The City of Light, whose cultural significance is incomparable. |
Over the years, BMF has worked with a number of clients on programs in Paris, serviced by our London office, and supported by on-the-ground local French talent who understand the nuances of the market – and speak the language. |
While Parisians are winding down to head out on their month-long August holiday, the French capital is gearing up to host the 2024 Olympics and Paralympic games, and so is BMF. |
And there’s so much happening in Paris right now. In this issue, you’ll hear from BMF’s Global Head of Production, a Paris native who shares her top tips for brands activating in Paris. |
Whether you’re planning an activation or planning your next sojourn, read on for a celebration of all things Paris and French culture. |

It first debuted at the Spring/Summer 2024 installation during Paris Fashion Week. This new jersey consists of 11 doves on the front, circling the PSG badge referencing PSG’s 11th league title that they accumulated last season. | Photo via Reporters Associes | Recently we’ve rediscovered our love of French pop singer France Gall. A star in the 1960’s yé-yé scene, she most notably won the 1965 Eurovision Song Contest with “Poupée de Cire, Poupée de Son” which still is on heavy rotation on our playlists today. The track is a composition by Serge Gainsbourg, another French fave whom she often collaborated with. Despite her death in 2018, she remains a beloved cultural icon. Jack White’s Third Man Records recently reissued her three most popular albums of the ‘60s: Poupée de Cire, Poupée de Son, Baby Pop, and 1968. ➔ |

Bofill, who passed in 2022, used reflective glass and precast concrete in shades close to sand to create references, many of which are Classical.
