Autumn has a way of reminding us who we’re becoming. |
It starts with the runways of Fashion Week—the moods, the styles, the trends—and carries us through the season’s fairs around the world. Design is everywhere. It’s in how we dress, how we decorate, how we drive. It’s how we edit our lives. |
Design, at its core, is identity in motion. It’s not just how something looks—it’s how it feels, how it moves, how it holds a point of view. It’s the architecture of emotion: the logo that lingers, the palette that feels unmistakably them, the energy that hits you the second you step inside a space. Great design doesn’t just show up—it shapes how we show up. |
At BMF, design is our compass. It’s how we translate strategy into story and story into space. It’s the connective tissue between imagination and impact—the thing that turns an idea into a brand world you can step inside. |
In this issue, we’re exploring design in all its expressions—from brand worlds to interiors to the small, exquisite details that define our everyday rituals. Because design doesn’t just solve problems. It creates desire. It invites participation. It tells the future who we are before we even arrive. |
That’s the pulse of design. |

| After a $100 million reinvention by David Rockwell, BMF client Marriott International’s W New York - Union Square is back—sharper, sleeker, and unapologetically New York. Glass-block walls, subway-inspired textiles, and sculptural lighting remix the landmark with the city’s trademark tension between grit and glamour. Its newest showpiece? Union Square’s only rooftop bar, a glass-wrapped vantage point that folds the skyline right into the design. Book your stay here. ➔ |

| With iOS 26, Apple doesn’t just update your home screen, it reimagines what a screen can be. The new “Liquid Glass” interface replaces static panes with responsive translucency—icons and windows that ripple, refract, and breathe in sync with the user’s gestures. It’s less a screen update than a shift in philosophy: software behaving like material. Every animation feels weighted and every blur carries depth, creating the illusion of a living surface that remembers your touch. Find out more here. ➔ |

Blurring the line between adornment and architecture, each piece is a structure of memory, resilience, and imagination. The exhibit is on view through March 15, 2026, book here. ➔ |

That’s Fire By Sir Candle Man 🔥 |
| BMF tapped fragrance tastemaker Kudzi Chikumbu, aka Sir Candle Man, for our Fall Fashion scent spotlight. Hand-poured and hand-sculpted, Burning Desire by L’Objet and artist Ruan Hoffmann came to mind. The porcelain vessel, etched in a winding pattern of cobalt blue and 24K gold, feels both modern and mythic. Its vetiver-citrus scent flickers softly through the room, reminding us that light, especially crafted by hand, is a testament of design and devotion. Smell for yourself here. ➔ |

| | BMF client L’Oréal Paris, transformed the Hôtel de Ville into a living study of design—where architecture, fashion, and beauty moved as one. With Kendall Jenner, Helen Mirren, and Eva Longoria leading the walk, it proved that great design isn’t static—it’s power in motion. Watch the full show here. ➔ |
